Mobile Processors
Mobile Phones are no longer a device that can address phone calls. It has become a personal gadget that can play music and vedios , surfing , taking snaps and connecting people through social media platform. Hence to peform all these tasks swiftly and with great ease , need for powerful processors are always in demand.
A mobile processor is just like a brain of our mobile phone. The entire architecture of our personal device depends on processor. Highly influenced by the personal computer processors , mobile processors are embedded in a small chipset with multiple cores ( Dual , Quad , Hexa and Octa ). The core handles the tasks which are assigned by the user while using their smartphone.
The processor must posses a good clock speed , which will aid in executing many instructions in a second. Hence phones with multi-processor core and higher clock speed will be comparetively expensive but will gurantee high speed and performance.
Higher core can also lead to battery consumption hike which should be taken care by core optimization. Phone technologies are advancing and more SoC companies are taking care of such prolonged issues. Qualcomm has designed a flagship processor called Snapdragon 845 SoC. Out of the 8 core , 4 core are clocked at 2.8Ghz for maximum performance and the remaining core are clocked at 1.7Ghz to aid in less battery consumption.
However, the companies are also working to design multicore processors phones using new battery technology, so that it can easily be compatible with the high-end processor and fit into the budget.
